Teva Taps Nike Alum for GM Role

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Sandal brand Teva announced Monday it has appointed Maggie Winkel as the brand’s new general manager, effective Oct. 24.

With over 20 years of experience for brands like Nike, Levi’s, Gap, Ann Taylor and more, Winkel’s most recent position before Teva was as the integrated marketplace director for Jordan North America. While working for Nike’s Air Jordan label, Winkel spearheaded merchandising strategies and expanded the label’s share in the apparel market.

For her new role as general manager for Teva, Winkel will manage global product and brand marketing, in addition to their U.S. wholesale business.

“We are excited to have such an experienced executive to lead our team as we continue to develop our brand awareness globally,” said Wendy Yang, president of performance lifestyle group at Deckers Brands. “Maggie’s passion for Teva and its rich heritage along with her experience in footwear and apparel, will be a key asset in driving the Teva brand’s growth in modern outdoor.”
