The Look: Laser Vision

Last spring’s obsession with laser cuts continue, but this time around the look is louder and more graphic, revealing more skin and allowing for greater creative freedom.

Rather than dainty floral motifs, cutout shapes are grid-like with open squares trimmed with crystals, or ethnic-inspired with sharp contrasts of triangles and diamond patterns knocked out of patent leather.

Sport makes its presence known through oversized perforated cutouts. Leather and suede booties feature bold cutout designs reminiscent of basketball nets—a more glamorous take on the ongoing mesh trend.

While black, blue and spring pastels are in designers’ repertoire, nude and blush tones remain the go-to colorways for laser cut designs.
