The Look: Snake Peek

Where are fashion’s priorities? How sustainability will fare post pandemic is just one of many open questions. Join SJ on July 15 at 11 am for a webinar on how the crisis will affect future sourcing decisions and how to better measure progress.

It’s easy to understand why snakes get a bad rap. They slither, fright, bite and coil around their prey. It’s those dangerous instincts that also make snake print a tempting source of inspiration for footwear designers.

Snake is charming its way into Spring ’16 collections, pairing up with on-trend silhouettes including espadrilles, gladiator sandals and retro runners. Snake also makes a slithering statement with the season’s pastel and metallic color stories. The texture is ladylike on powder blue ballet slippers, yet fit for a snake lady on edgy, gladiator sandals.
