The footwear industry’s ‘work hard, play harder’ mentality has resulted in a Fall ’15 season chock-full of work-inspired boots.

Riding high on Timberland’s impressive turnaround——revenues for the brand were up 15 percent in the third quarter 2014——and the revival of the brand’s iconic Classic Six-Inch boot, fashion brands like Coolway, Restricted and Steve Madden are lacing up, while outdoor labels, including Sorel and Ugg, are toughening up their coziest styles with a utilitarian look.

Workwear style, which fashion darlings Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn, Suki Waterhouse, Beyonce and even toddler Blue Ivy have fully embraced, is kicked up a notch for Fall ’15 by merging with other must-have trends for the season.

Boots with stacked heels, pops of Pantone Color of the Year, Marsala, and exaggerated lug soles make a style statement. Others are soften with autumnal floral prints, rich oiled suede uppers and tufts of shearling lining. And on oxfords, expect to see work details, including D-ring eyelets and traditional gold boot laces, deliver a less tailored look.
