Are Lace-Up Sandals the New Ghillie?

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Satin, silky and elegant; that’s one way to describe the luxurious lace-up sandals trend set to hit next spring.

A new trend report from the fashion analysts at Edited reports that lace-up sandals will be one of the biggest trends for women’s shoes based on their popularity at Spring ’17 runway shoes.

Shows including Rosie Assoulin, Erdem, Blumarine and Dries Van Noten all incorporated the trend, with details like satin ribbons, slim ribbons, big bows and espadrille-like calico ribbons all dominating. Meanwhile, metallic tones that play well with the glossiness of satin ribbons and platform heels are also expected to be big for Spring ’17.

Edited also cites successful espadrilles sales for Spring ’16 as evidence that this new sandal update will likely follow suit with strong sales next year.
