The highly anticipated collaboration between Swedish sneaker brand Tretorn and André 3000 Benjamin launches Monday with a first drop that includes colorful versions of the heritage brand’s iconic silhouettes.

From his original sketches to the completed line, Tretorn says Benjamin brings his signature playful twist on color and stripes to the classic Nylite.

The unisex collection was inspired by Benjamin’s personal connection to the shoe as he was growing up in Atlanta. “Growing up, we’d all put our personal stamp onto the blank canvas of the Nylite and I’d sketch out my own designs,” said Benjamin. “This collaboration felt like fun because it brought me back to that place of personalizing these original designs.”

The “I André Benjamin will not draw in class” capsule collection features 10 unique designs including updates to the classic Tretorn styles. The sneakers include styles inspired by Tretorn’s preppy heritage with thick yellow and blue rugby stripes, purple terrycloth high tops, Velcro high tops, overdyed, and quilted materials.

The line retails for $85 to $250 on tretorn.com. The collection will roll out at Kith, Maketto, Rime, Shoe Gallery and Wish in early December 2017. The full collection will launch across specialty and department stores in February 2018.
