Twisted X Donates 10,500 Pairs of Shoes to Houston Hurricane Harvey Victims

Twisted X is taking care of its fellow Texans and victims of Hurricane Harvey.

The Decatur, Texas-based Western boot and lifestyle footwear brand announced Wednesday the company is donating 10,500 pairs of new shoes to those who are affected by the hurricane. Twisted X linked up with non-profit Soles4Souls to distribute the goods.

“While none of our Twisted X team members were directly affected, we have several retailers and customers who are going through rough time, and we wanted to help in any way we could, we thought that donating shoes and work boots to help victims of this disaster and the first responders is the right thing to do and so decided to distribute one million dollars’ worth of shoes and work boots through Soles4Souls,” said Twisted X CEO Prasad Reddy. “I was very familiar with Soles4Souls, as they are known experts for distributing footwear to the needy.”

Soles4Souls ramped up its relief efforts immediately after Hurricane Harvey struck Houston. The organization acts as “second wave” responders, working directly with manufacturers and retailers to procure brand new shoes, clothing and other necessities to distribute to those in need. Soles4Souls has set up a Harvey Relief Fund to mobilize product to affected areas and are accepting monetary donations or inviting people to raise funds.

“We were thrilled when Twisted X reached out with their offer,” said Buddy Teaster, Soles4Souls president and CEO. “I continue to be moved by the incredible way individuals and businesses step up in the darkest of times. The footwear Twisted X donates will bring hope and energy back to those who want to get back on their feet as quickly as possible.”
