U.S. Polo Assn. Expands Kids Business in Asia

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

U.S. Polo Assn. brand, the official brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA), announced the addition of three new licensing partners set to expand the brand’s footprint in Asia.

The license agreement with Grand Billion Trading (Shanghai), a sect of the Chinese footwear retailer Belle International Holding Limited, brings U.S. Polo Assn. brand children’s shoes in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

The footwear agreement is a part of a larger apparel expansion with the help of Changzhou Yicai Brands Management Co., Ltd., bringing apparel and small leather goods to China, Hong Kong and Macau, and Singapore-based F J Benjamin Pte Ltd., which will bring apparel to Malaysia in Fall ’17.

“U.S. Polo Assn.’s approachable style and authentic connection to the sport of polo is reaching new audiences as we continue to expand the brand globally and we see the Asia market as a high potential region,” said David Cummings, president of USPA Global Licensing Inc. “We are excited to be collaborating with three strong partners for these new launches.”

The new footwear line will sell online and in select children’s footwear stores this spring.
