UBM Americas, a part of UBM plc and the largest business-to-business events and trade show organizer in the U.S., made several new appointments to its U.S.-based Fashion Group.
The moves are an important step for the company in integrating Advanstar into UBM. The organizer acquired Advanstar in December 2014, along with its portfolio of trade events, including Magic, Project, Coterie, WWDMagic, FN Platform and more. The appointments include managing director of fashion, president of retail fashion and president of men’s fashion.
Chris DeMoulin has been named managing director of fashion for UBM Americas. DeMoulin most recently served as president of licensing and EVP, customer development, powersports and automotive, for UBM Advanstar. Previously, he oversaw Advanstar’s fashion business as the president of Magic from 2008-2012.
Tommy Fazio, the current president of UBM Advanstar men’s fashion, has been promoted to the role of president of retail fashion. Fazio will develop and implement a cohesive retail engagement strategy across the Fashion Group and develop new programs to connect retailers directly with exhibitors. Fazio previously held senior positions at Nordstrom, Simon Spurr, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.
Erik Ulin will join UBM Americas as the president of men’s fashion. He will oversee events including Magic, Project, The Tents, The Collective and Pool Tradeshow. He most recently served as president of J. Lindeberg USA.
In a statement, Simon Foster, CEO of UBM Americas, said, “These executive appointments are a key step to integrating Advanstar into the UBM global organization and lays a strong foundation for when Joe Loggia, current CEO of UBM Advanstar, leaves at the end of the year. It highlights our commitment to the Fashion industry and our ability to provide premium platforms that create connections throughout the fashion world.”
