VF Corp. Named a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality

VF Corporation, owner of Vans, Timberland, Wrangler and Lee, announced Tuesday that it had received a perfect score on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index.

The Equality Index, put together by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC), assess the best places to work for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals. VF ranked at number one on the list, earning it the title of best place to work for persons in the LGBT community.

“At VF, appreciation for our differences is a value that is woven into the fabric of our culture,” said Anita Graham, VF Corp. vice president and chief human resources officer. “We value our associates and consumers for who they are, and our corporate policies and practices reinforce our commitment to inclusiveness and respect for every individual. We are proud to receive this recognition from the HRC.”

In order to achieve a 100-point perfect score on the CEI report, companies have to have clear non-discrimination protections for LGBT employees throughout the company, ensure contractors follow these protections and decline any charity donations to non-religious organizations with specific written policies of discrimination.
