Vibram Celebrates 100 Years of Manufacturing

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Vibram is celebrating 100 years of manufacturing this Friday at the company’s Quabaug Vibram Innovation (QVI) manufacturing facility in Massachusetts.

The celebration, which will include an anniversary commemoration and factory tours, will also see the likes of Rep. Jim McGovern, State Sen. Anne Gobi and State Rep. Donnie Berthiaume making appearances.

“Vibram is a key component of the Massachusetts manufacturing economy and an important source of high-quality products for members of our military and individual customers around the globe,” said Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito.

This year also marks the beginning of Vibram USA’s commitment to a five-year, multi-million dollar campaign, with investments in staff and machinery to further innovation for the next century. The company is also upgrading QVI’s capabilities and manufacturing machines, as well as beginning a two-year workers’ education program and expanding its domestic supply chain.

“Vibram USA’s ‘Centennial Event for the Future’ is as much about celebrating our future as it is our past,” said Vibram President and CEO Mike Gionfriddo. “This milestone represents Vibram’s commitment to innovating and manufacturing performance-oriented products here in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”
