Year in Review: The Year We Became Obsessed with the Seventies, Again

Spring ’16 will be remembered as the season when footwear designers let their inner hippie run free. From the designer runway to the trade show floor at Outdoor Retailer, design influences from the ’70s were rampant in collections across categories.

Fringe, wooden heels and clogs were obvious cues taken from the decade that brought disco. Meanwhile, warm color palettes, summer suede and touches of denim added a quiet and fashionable dash of the trend.
