While the online retailer might be staying silent on the Ivanka Trump #grabyourwallet debacle, they continue to gain press through their positive partnerships, like their Soles4Souls venture, and now their part in helping animals a forever home.
With around 9,000 homeless animals euthanized every day across the U.S., the event hopes to help as many cats and dogs as possible through the e-commerce website, as well as pledging to donate $1.25 million to Best Friends Animal Society.
“Zappos is excited to work with Best Friends Animal Society for a second year this holiday season,” said Steven Bautista, “karma kommando” at Zappos. “Thousands of dogs and cats are in need of loving homes and we want to give all of our customers the ability to make a difference in their lives.”
Zappos and Best Friends hope to see 9,000 animals adopted during the holiday weekend—one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. With over 115 shelters, rescues and humane organizations in the U.S. participating in the event, there will be no shortage of animals to adopt.
“We’re excited to partner with Zappos for the second year in a row on this holiday promotion,” said Gregory Castle, co-founder and CEO of Best Friends Animal Society. “Every animal that finds a permanent loving home helps us to get one step closer to Save Them All.”
Helping drive the cause, the event enlisted celebrity animal-lovers, like Wynonna Judd and Cesar Millan. The event coordinators also hope people will utilize social media to help spread awareness and capture the event.
“I am excited to be part of the pack that Zappos has created for the Pawlidayz adoption drive. Anytime humans come together to help animals, amazing things happen,” said Cesar Millan, star of Dog Nation. “This holiday, we will help thousands of animals find new homes, and this is a great example of coming together as a pack to help animals in need.”
Adoption benefits are accessible nationwide in select states.
