Scandinavian approachable luxury brand Ganni is set to debut its first collaborative shoe with New Balance on April 13.
The 2002R sneaker was reimagined using environmentally preferred materials.
The shoes’ uppers will be made with 80 percent recycled synthetic overlays, fully recycled mesh paneling, and laces made from 30 percent recycled fiber. The outsoles, meanwhile, contain 5 percent reground rubber.
Available in two color ways and with genderless sizing up to U.S. size 11.5, the runner-meets-city-sneaker was inspired by Ganni fans, the brands said.
“This shoe is the perfect mix of function and fashion,” Ganni’s Ditte Reffstrup said of the style.
“Given Ganni’s global relevance with fashion conscious consumers and seeing their #GanniGirls styling New Balance sneakers so often, this collaboration seemed like a natural fit for both brands,” said Lauren Fitzsimmons, New Balance lead for collaborations in EMEA.
“The NB 2002R style really fits into the Copenhagen way of dressing—we’re always cycling and running somewhere,” Reffstrup said.
The new release was designed to incorporate a variety of partially or fully-recycled fabrics and components.
Beginning April 6, shoppers can enter a draw on Ganni.com to win early access to the limited edition drop.
