Crate & Barrel Recalls 280 Cribs

Crate & Barrel announced a recall of its Thornhill cribs due to the potential for falls and entrapment. According to an announcement released by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the crib’s mattress support pins can come loose or not fit properly, causing the mattress to fall.

The recall includes Thornhill cribs in Dark Brown and Natural finishes with gold-capped feet. The model number is 304-903 and located on the mattress support board. The cribs were sold online only on Crate & Barrel’s website from September 2021 through October 2022, for around $1,000. About 280 were sold in the U.S. and around five were sold in Canada.

Crate & Barrel has received six reports of the mattress support pins not fitting correctly and falling out of the crib, but no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately cease using the recalled cribs and contact Crate & Barrel at 312-779-1979 or crateandbarrel.com to arrange a full refund or replacement. According to the CPSC, Crate & Barrel is directly contacting all customers who purchased a crib.

Earlier this year, Crate & Barrel recalled other children’s products made by other companies but sold in their stores. Those recalls included Wonder & Wise Baby Activity Walkers and the Stokke White Clikk High Chair.

TJX recalled baby blankets that posed a risk of choking infants while Amazon had more than 15,000 foam mattresses subject to recall for violating federal flammability standards.
