Rug Makers Readying Newness for Next High Point Market

Ahead of the High Point Market—the semi-annual furnishings trade show held in High Point, N.C., and slated for Oct. 22-26—rug companies are rolling out new partnerships and products for buyers attending the show.

Carlstadt, N.J.-based Momeni launches its collaboration with Pure Salt Interiors, a Newport Beach, Calif.-based interior design studio and shop. Known for clean, coastal designs that take inspiration from nature, the studio’s founders Aly Morford and Leigh Lincoln bring that aesthetic to their line. Natural fibers and neutral colors show up in five collections.

The Torquay features a mix of jute and wool while Koukila was inspired by a well-loved kilim and made with hemp woven to be more substantial and durable than true vintage kilim, with distinctive stitching for an aged look. The Cassis is a plush braided rug available in three color ways—bleach, natural and walnut—while the Menorca is an intricate hand-knotted design naturally distressed for a vintage feel. And the Patara collection was designed specifically for Little Salt, the studio’s baby and kids brand. This collection comes in gender-neutral, natural colors with tufted polka dots.

“Rugs are, quite literally, foundational to good design, and finding a high-quality, beautiful rug can be like finding a diamond in the rough,” Lincoln said. “We set out to create this line of rugs with Momeni to fill a gap for our clients and customers—to have rugs that feel as good as they look, using unique methods and materials for a one-of-a-kind design.”
