Ellen DeGeneres has plenty to be merry about.
The talk-show host has teamed up with Walmart to add 44 new holiday-inspired items to her EV1 women’s clothing line, including fair-isle-patterned sweatshirts, ombré button-down shirts and cozy fleece joggers designed to “take you right from dinner to the office holiday party to brunch the next day, if you like eating waffles in a festive holiday pant,” DeGeneres said.
The collection, which is “inspired by love and inclusivity,” also features “Love”-exhorting cuffed beanies, buffalo-check socks, fringed and pom-pom-bedecked scarves and plaid-trimmed denim jackets, the most pricy of which tops out at $32.
“Everything comes in holiday colors and fabrics so you can stay warm and feel festive whether you’re at a party or shoveling snow or untangling the lights you swore you wouldn’t get tangled last year,” DeGeneres told E! News.
Her favorite piece? The velvet bomber jacket bedazzled with the word “Love” on the back.
“It comes in black and burgundy and it goes with literally anything,” said DeGeneres, who refers to herself as chief design enthusiast and comfy content reviewer of EV1. “You know I mean that because I said literally.”
In a nod to the animal lover’s own vegan sensibilities, EV1’s wares are completely cruelty-free. Even the slip-on and lace-up sneakers opt for microfiber and faux suede details instead of the genuine articles.
“EV1 is a brand for everyone, plain and simple,” DeGeneres said when the line launched in September—EV1, everyone; get it? “There’s a price point for everyone and there’s a style for everyone and I think EV1 is gonna like it.”
EV1 isn’t the comedian’s first foray into fashion. In 2015, DeGeneres debuted ED Ellen DeGeneres, a lifestyle brand that includes children’s wear, pet products and, to the consternation of animal-rights activists, leather shoes through a multi-year deal with Camuto Group.
