Made-By will support the supply chain transparency work and GTS will supply an IT platform where companies may evaluate their environmental impact through Transparency Solutions.
“I strongly believe that Made-By’s updated Transparency Solutions offer fills a gap in the market,” Made-By CEO Sabine Ritter said. “Never before have brands and retailers been able to conduct all their supply chain due diligence in one place, have this completely validated by an independent organization and furthermore receive support on reducing risks and impacts of their supply chains.”
Supply chain mapping, sustainability due diligence and product-led traceability from Transparency Solutions will allow companies to trace animal-derived materials and map wood based materials suppliers at the same time. For each unique supplier type, the platform provides fashion specific, tailored sustainability questionnaires that target key environmental issues. Brands and retailers will receive updated evaluations from Made-By’s expert team with Transparency Solutions, so they are confident about their traceability progress.
Transparency Solutions also enables companies to predict their supply chains’ issues, including environmental issues and unsafe worker’s conditions. Risk assessments will also be provided to companies by the platform and Made-By will conduct workshops to assist the transparency process. Lastly, Transparency Solutions works with other internal systems, such as SAP, which is used globally by many brands and retailers.
GTS CEO Ulrich Heindl spoke about how the partnership will improve traceability for companies’ global supply chains and establish a more sustainable future for the fashion industry: “We hope to bring the traceability success we have seen in the timber industry, to the fashion sector and look forward to working with Made-By, a partner that has the knowledge and know how to help implement change within the fashion industry,” he said.
