Immediately following Earth Day, Sourcing Journal’s 2nd Annual Road to 2030 Sustainability Summit will open its doors to industry professionals in midtown New York to network, brainstorm and sow the seeds for sustainable change.
This full-day, in-person event on April 25, titled “Promises vs Progress,” provides the fashion industry the opportunity to take stock of where it wants to be, where it actually is, and figure out steps to align the two.
“Our industry does a lot of talking about sustainability—from low-impact collections, goals and forecasts to the holy grail of carbon neutrality—but where do we really stand?” said Edward Hertzman, president and founder of Sourcing Journal.
Unfortunately, there is still a long way to go. A recent Sourcing Journal survey revealed that 80 percent of companies said they had defined sustainability targets, yet only 20 percent have any measuring tools in place.
“We need to examine the disparity between ambitions and action,” Hertzman said. “Join us to help foster change.”
Not just for sustainability execs
Attention to sustainability continues to grow at the corporate level, with many companies adding bona fide sustainability executives to their C-suites. The summit will show how environmental and social responsibility initiatives shape sourcing, product design, raw material development, manufacturing, compliance, financing, operational decisions and more.
“Whether ‘sustainability’ is in your job title or not, you must stay up to speed on the latest developments in this space,” said Hertzman.
Join this full-day lineup of speakers and panels to learn:
- What has changed (for better or worse) since the Rana Plaza garment worker tragedy 10 years ago
- The pitfalls of unsubstantiated assertions and best practices to stay on the right side of new regulations around the world
- What circularity really means and how to integrate it into your business operation
- The who, what and why of the increasingly important sustainability executive
- What’s new in next-gen inputs, as sustainability truly starts at the source
- How to protect your goods and company from the “guilty until proven innocent” environment
As always, networking with current and future partners is an essential perk for any summit attendee.
