Guess x J Balvin Returns with Colorful Spring 2020 Collection (LW) Denim brand Guess and J Balvin teamed on a second capsule collection that reflects his Medellín hometown and upcoming album, Colores. Guess and global music superstar J Balvin teamed on a second capsule collection. This time, it’s packed with color and personality that reflects both the singer’s hometown of Medellín, Colombia, and his upcoming album. After the widespread success of their first collaboration, Guess and Balvin were inspired to go back to the drawing board and provide even more offerings. The Guess x J Balvin Colores Spring 2020 collection is available for men, women and children, and captures all of the vibrant colors of Medellín. The collection infuses bright red, yellow, green, blue and purple tones into each piece. Standout looks include a women’s matching white denim set with a cropped denim jacket and high waisted denim shorts covered in colorful logos. The same print is seen in a men’s version of the matching women’s set, featuring a denim trucker jacket and jeans. The collection also includes a long-sleeved T-shirt with tie dye elements and a matching bucket hat emblazoned with the Guess logo. “What initially started as a collection has turned into year-round energy,” Guess’ director of brand partnerships Nicolai Marciano said in a statement. “We organically elevated the partnership to wardrobe his whole tour and dancers, large festival merchandise moments, amongst other one-offs opportunities. With this new collection, Colores, we really pushed ourselves collectively and we’re excited to unveil our most robust collection for men, women and kids. Balvin’s passion and commitment as a partner is the ideal space to create within.” Shot in Medellín, the campaign features Balvin and models Jamea Byrd and Sara Orrego. The shoot was directed by Marciano, styled by DJ and model Sita Abellan and photographed by Tatiana Gerusova. Balvin, known as “reggaeton’s global ambassador,” made sure the collection reflects the mood of his upcoming album, “Colores,” dropping in March. In early 2019, Guess and Balvin collaborated on a “Vibras” collection named after his most recent album at the time. The campaign fell under scrutiny later that year when a mural artist sued Guess after claiming the brand used imagery of his Miami artwork without his permission. Shoppers can gain early access to the Guess x J Balvin Colores collection at popup experiences in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and New York, March 20- 22. The full Guess x J Balvin Colores collection will be available in Guess stores and on its website on March 27.
