Cortexica, the leading provider of cloud-based image recognition systems and mobile visual search technology, findSimilar, introduced the opening of its new U.S. office in New York. Located in the midst of the retail fashion district in SoHo, the new office will spearhead business development opportunities and strengthen the company’s client support on the East Coast.
Steve Semenzato, VP of business development for Cortexica, said, “New York exerts a significant impact upon retail E-commerce, technology and fashion – something which we are at the center of here at Cortexica as we work with retailers to develop innovative visual search functionality into their websites and apps. This enables mobile consumers to turn inspiration from every day life into a purchase, just by taking a photo and matching their captured images to retailers inventory.”
He added, “We are inspired by the vibrant fashion and retail innovation in New York City, and are thrilled to be at the heart of this ever growing fashion-tech industry network.”
Macy’s announced the integration of Cortexica’s visual search software within its mobile application last year. Since then, Macy’s has been named 2014 Mobile Retailer of the Year, the highest honor in mobile commerce and retail.
Cortexica’s New York office at 69 Charlton Street will allow the company to meet the growing demand for its software and services. This office, in addition to its San Francisco and London offices, represents a natural progression toward Cortexica achieving its goals of visually enabling the fashion industry.
