Shuffle Board: Board Members Named at Dollar General and Maersk, Logistics Firms Beef Up Ranks

Dollar General

Dollar General Corp. appointed Debra A. Sandler to its board of directors effective April 1.

Sandler’s addition to the company’s board will increase the total number of directors from eight to nine, boost its female board representation to one-third and bring its blended gender and racial diversity rate to 44 percent. She will serve on the board’s nominating and governance committee.

Sandler currently serves as president and CEO of La Grenade Group, a marketing consultancy that serves packaged goods to companies operating in the health and wellness space, a role she has held since September 2015. Since April 2018, Sandler has also served as CEO of Mavis Foods, a startup she founded that makes and sells Caribbean sauces and marinades.

Logistics

A.P. Møller-Mærsk

A.P. Møller-Mærsk said Blythe Masters was nominated for election as a new member of the board of directors at the company’s annual meeting set for March 23.

Masters is currently industry partner at Motive Partners, a New York-based specialty FinTech private equity and venture capital firm.

Maersk said Masters will contribute with an international outlook and experience within financial services and technology, having extensive knowledge in startups and blockchain.

Patriot Rail & Ports

Patriot Rail & Ports appointed Paul D. Tonsager as chief commercial officer.

Tonsager will oversee all commercial efforts related to the transportation, services and ports business units across Patriot Company’s growing business platform. His scope of responsibilities will cover the growth of industrial development projects, as well as M&A activities and further leverage strategic organizational capabilities by aligning and refocusing the commercial group.

Tonsager comes to Patriot from CN Rail, where he most recently was responsible for U.S. business development and shortline engagement.  Prior to that he ran CN Worldwide North America marketing and sales.

Iannotti, who will lead FourKites’ global sales organization, has a track record that includes successful building and leading high-performance teams at enterprises such as Procore Technologies, NetSuite, Salesforce, SAP and PeopleSoft.

Schoeff brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience at Vibes, TicketNow, Millward Brown/Kantar and Prudential. Koepke comes to FourKites with 16 years in the logistics services industry, having led teams in operations, supply chain engineering, operational excellence and solution design to help complex global shippers transform their business into cutting-edge supply chains.
