Ebay has launched a dedicated The North Face storefront, through a partnership with Premium Direct, to make it easier for the online marketplace’s customers to shop one of its “most sought-after” clothing brands.
The new storefront, located at eBay.com/TheNorthFace, features 15 fall/winter 2019 men’s, women’s, children’s and accessory styles under $150, including hoodies, zippered jackets, vests and backpacks. All items are new with tags, include their original packaging and are covered by The North Face’s lifetime warranty. Shipping is also free.
“Launching our storefront on eBay makes The North Face inventory accessible to new audiences, including outdoor-lovers around the globe,” Matt Osborn, CEO of Premium Direct, said in a statement. “Coupled with eBay’s broad reach, millions of shoppers can prepare for their next adventure with some of the best equipment out there.”
The North Face is a popular search term on eBay, which sold more than 1,000 items from the brand every day in 2018, according to Nicole Colombo, head of fashion at eBay.
“We see over 1 million searches per year for The North Face on eBay,” she said. “The addition of The North Face storefront represents eBay’s commitment to offering unparalleled selection, unique value and choice across the best brands at a variety of tastes, styles and prices.”
The North Face’s environment and social values “intersect” with eBay’s own commitment to sustainability, Colombo added.
The North Face isn’t the only fashion brand to have an official or semi-official eBay storefront. Other retailers include Adidas, Puma and True Religion. In 2018, borrowing a page from Amazon, the marketplace debuted an “under $10” storefront of direct-to-consumer products.
On the re-commerce front, Vaude, Germany’s answer to Patagonia, set up a Second Use Shop on eBay for customers to trade and resell used products.
