Espirit Gets Former Zara Exec For New Product Chief

Rivet's 2020 Denim Circularity report takes a deep dive into how the global denim industry is plotting its circular future amidst a worldwide pandemic.

Struggling clothing retailer, Espirit Holdings Limited made a move to revitalize the brand by hiring former Inditex executive Rafael Pastor Espuch as the new chief product and design officer.

Pastor will replace Melody Harris-Jensbach and will be responsible for managing product creation and design for all product divisions of the Espirit brand.

Pastor spent 18 years working with the Spanish clothing company, Inditex, 12 of those years as an executive director for Zara and the “Zara Basic” women’s product division. He was responsible for more than 2 billion euro in sales and maintained consistent sales growth in recent years.

Espirit announced the staff change last Tuesday and shares increased by more than 7 percent–the company’s largest one-day gain in 14 years, Reuters reported.
