The ITL Group (ITL), a leading global supplier of apparel label solutions, announced last month its joint venture with Codes and Labels Ltd, a privately owned Bangladeshi supplier of labels, packaging and trims to the apparel industry.
The agreement will result in Codes and Labels’ printing and label operations being absorbed into the newly established ITL Bangladesh.
ITL’s CEO and head of global operations, Fred Christopher, said following the announcement, “With many retailers making long term sourcing commitments to Bangladesh, we decided that this was the right time to enter this important region and extend our global reach for our customers.”
Codes & Labels managing director, Monir Khan, said, “I am immensely proud of what we have achieved as a business over the last 15 years which has seen us grow from a small local supplier to become one of the largest independent label manufacturers in Bangladesh.”
He elaborated, “However, as our customers’ demands for greater supply chain transparency and corporate compliance increases, it is time for us to embrace the benefits offered by a larger global organization that is a good fit for our business, will only enhance our progress and ensure that we maintain our advantage in the. The joint venture with ITL, who have a fantastic portfolio of added value services and clients market.”
Codes and Labels is a privately owned manufacturer of a wide range of apparel labels and packaging including printed fabric labels, graphics tags, woven labels, variable data labels and polybags, holding accreditations for a number of prominent global brands and retailers, including Primark and Mango.
ITL is owned by the South African based SA Bias Industries Group and produces a full range of apparel label solutions including permanent branding, variable data and intelligent labeling solutions.
