Kellwood Aquires Parker Brand

Kellwood Holding LLC, parent company of Kellwood Co., has acquired Parker, the six-year-old women’s contemporary apparel line carried by Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.

Headed by CEO Howard Highman, Parker has built a steady business specializing in fun and flirty silhouettes, playful uses of trendy color and bold prints targeted to women in their late 20s and early 30s. As a result, the brand has experienced rapid growth in the U.S., as well as in 30 additional countries.

Highman said becoming a part of the Kellwood organization will enable Parker to achieve its vision of becoming a global lifestyle brand. “Kellwood’s product development and distribution acumen combined with its global relationships, marketing and ecommerce know-how makes this the right choice for substantial short-term and long-term growth,” he added.

For Kellwood, the acquisition expands its foothold in the contemporary fashion market. The company designs, manufacturers and markets a portfolio of apparel brands including Rebecca Taylor, Sam Edelman and XOXO.

Parker will continue to run out of the New York City-based Lily Kate multibrand showroom.
