Kissy Kissy Acquired by Mamiye Brothers

Kissy Kissy joins the Little Me portfolio of brands at Mamiye Brothers.

“We are thrilled to add Kissy Kissy to our Little Me family of brands and introduce a new, best in class name to our roster,” said Mamiye Brothers division president Jeff Glick. “Our goal is to achieve a smooth transition and leverage Mamiye Brothers’ strengths in baby apparel to take Kissy Kissy to new heights, continuing to delight consumers with the highest levels of quality and design.”

New York-based Mamiye Brothers offers the Little Me, Best Beginnings, Offspring and Flapdoodles lines. Kissy Kissy founder Roxana Castillo and other key members of the team will join Mamiye Brothers.

“When I was first approached by Mamiye Brothers, I knew that the opportunity was one that would bring Kissy Kissy to the next level. I am confident that the blending of our families will allow the brand that I hold close to my heart grow exponentially,” Castillo said.

The premier baby brand in the U.S., Kissy Kissy is known for its Peruvian Pima cotton, which provides high quality and a soft hand feel. The brand’s signature look is derived from a sweet print-driven sensibility that focuses on classic, timeless themes. The label was among the first Peruvian Pima cotton brands sold in the U.S. and it was a leader in offering full collections of coordinating garments and accessories.

The company offers several brands under the Kissy Kissy umbrella, including Kissy Kissy Premier, which features hand embroideries and smocking; Sophie la Girafe by Kissy Kissy, a licensed collection featuring the character from the beloved teething toy; and Kissy Kissy Pajamas, which extends the company’s size range up to 8.

The award-winning brand was launched in 1996 and is currently sold around the world at retailers like Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman and Bloomingdale’s in the U.S. as well as Harrods in the UK, Le Bon Marché in Paris, Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong and Mitsukoshi in Tokyo.

French Label Orchestra Debuting in the U.S.

Leading French children’s wear brand, Orchestra, will open its first store in the U.S. in May.

The store will be located in the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania. And the company has already launched its U.S. website.

The 23-year-old family-owned business operates 700 stores in 40 countries and offers children’s clothing and shoes for newborn through size 14 as well as maternity clothes and juvenile products. The label offers more than 3,000 styles a season with more than 100 new items delivered per week. The label sells 80 million pieces a year and is the sixth largest children’s clothing retailer in the world, according to the company release.

“We are thrilled to finally introduce our unique and fashionable brand of children’s clothes and footwear to U.S. customers,” said Orchestra director and vice-chairman, Agathe Boidin. “Orchestra has experienced enormous success around the globe and we are looking forward to launching the brand in the United States.”

The move into the U.S. is being headed up by Boidin, who has served as the brand’s CFO and CEO.
