Season three of Amazon’s fashion-reality series ‘Making the Cut’ returns to Los Angeles this summer with dynamic duo Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn again hosting the Prime Video streaming show.
Ten hopefuls will vie for the chance to bring their fashion aesthetic to the masses and walk away with $1 million to build their business and an Amazon Fashion mentorship, as well as the potential to develop a co-branded line with Amazon Fashion and reach new consumers by selling their line on the fashion platform’s ‘Making the Cut’ e-commerce store.
Past winners Jonny Cota and Andrea Pitter of Pantora have expanded their horizons since outlasting the competition in seasons one and two, respectively. The latter landed on the West Coast last year in the wake of her win, opening a boutique in Los Angeles’ Row DTLA that brings Pantora’s approachable, size-inclusive high-fashion sensibility and New York heritage to Southern California.
Judges Jeremy Scott, formerly of Moschino, and Nicole Richie of House of Harlow 1960 will be joined by a rotating cast of guest judges including high-profile fashion personalities. The show promises “exciting new brand collaborations” in season three after Levi’s notably took over a design challenge last year—a first for the series—that resulted in a unisex spin on the classic trucker jacket. New this year will be a larger selection of shoppable fashion from each episode’s winner, giving consumers more opportunities to support their favorite designers from week to week.
In a statement, Klum said she’s “excited” to be back for a new ‘Making the Cut’ season.
“I was so happy to be reunited with Tim, Nicole, and Jeremy as we searched for the next great global fashion brand among our most talented group of designers yet,” she said. “This season’s fashion far exceeded our expectations and there are so many amazing looks that I cannot wait to wear myself.”
Gunn said he’s “tremendously excited for fans to see what this season’s enormously talented group of designers has in store” after witnessing Cota and Pitter’s success.
