The spring edition is set to take place from March 18-20, 2015, while the autumn edition will be held from Oct. 13-15, 2015, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The venue is a highly modern exhibition, and with 500,000 square meters of exhibition space, is reportedly the largest in the world.
It is expected that the new venue will attract more quality domestic buyers, since its location is just west of the city of Hongqiao, making it closer to its surrounding textile hubs. It is positioned very close to the Hongqiao airport, speed rail, regular rail and bus connections, easing the commute for buyers.
Confirmed speakers for the 2015 line up include, Hans Rosling, a frequent TED speaker from Sweden’s Karolinska Institute, Sean Cady, VP Product Stewardship & Sustainability for VF Corp, Jason Kibbey, executive director of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, Kurt Schlaepfer, head of CRM at bluesign technologies, and Philip Courtenay, senior VP of apparel sourcing for Adidas Group.
The upcoming editions will be significantly larger than this year, but Messe Frankfurt plans to focus on continually improving the quality of offerings for visitors and exhibitors.
