When designers, buyers and sourcing executives arrive at Première Vision Paris next week, they’ll see a new look to the show: a more dense assortment of exhibitors, a fresh take on its fashion forums and a general overhaul of the must-attend fabric fair.
Set for Feb. 13 to 15 at Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte, show organizers are continuing their aggressive development strategy to provide effective support to international creative fashion professionals as they build their spring-summer 2019 collections.
The dynamic expansion will be marked with a 1.6% increase in exhibitors from a year ago to 1,725 exhibitors, an expansion of the Wearable Lab dedicated to Fashion Tech, with a strengthened space for discoveries, meetings and discussion, and a vigorous increase of the leather goods and footwear offering with the development of the Bag & Shoe Manufacturing area.
The show will also include a series of conferences on topics and issues in the leather industry, a textile design showcase with the “PV Designs Loves Summer” presentation, talks on responsible creation at the Smart Creation platform, an exhibit dubbed “Dr. Martens revisited by designer Eugène Riconneaus,” and a spotlight on young creatives through exhibitions realized by students from ENSCI, IFM and the Italian project common.
The exhibitors will represent nearly 50 countries, with 118 new companies.

The show will feature a new look for Première Vision Fabrics and Première Vision Yarns with the launch of a new stand design.
“With this new edition, we are providing a transversal reading of the season, in the PV Perspectives forum, through a strong and very readable selection,” Pascaline Wilhelm, Première Visionf Fashion director, said. “So this offer is more comprehensive and more concrete. It comprises both a global and a detailed vision.”
Wilhelm noted that the number of distinct forums has also been condensed.
“We approached this in the same spirit, looking to offer a more effective reading,” he said. “Our new leather forum, Leather Selection, will target clothing, leather goods and footwear. The “Fabrics Selection – Fancies” forum will bring together key themes in decoration, lace, embroidery and silks. Our policy is to create engaging and more effective forums.”
Each activity sector will have its own space called “Selection.” The Leather Selection will focus on leather and fur trends, with a Bag & Shoe Elements area dedicated to footwear and leather goods inspirations.
The Accessories Selection will present a collection of components and accessories, the Designs Selection will showcase the season’s key patterns and directions, and Yarns & Knitwear Selection will present yarns, stitch developments and flatbed knit garments. The Manufacturing Selection will illustrate style standouts by presenting selected know-hows of the show’s fashion manufacturers, while the Fabrics Selection, Essentials, will present a selection of fabrics indispensable to creating collections.
Marc Brunel, show director for Première Vision Leather, said, “For a brand that wants to get into accessories, the main pitfall is bringing together the best subcontractors who will work together to develop and create the project. Première Vision is very aware of this difficulty, so the show brings together in one place the manufacturers, the raw material suppliers and the component manufacturers.”
In addition, the Première Vision Marketplace, a B-to-B e-commerce site, editorial platform and industry service provider, will bow for the first time in the February edition after launching in September, brought together by the new subsidiary, Première Vision Digital.
“This project is in keeping with our mission to foster connections between buyers and exhibitors,” Gaël Séguillon, director of Première Vision Digital, said. “All our exhibitors will be on the platform, with a presentation of their activity. Those who wish to participate in the adventure will subscribe and benefit from all the platform’s advantages: assistance in digitizing their catalogs, and a secure platform to receive sample requests and, eventually, orders…They will benefit from a perfectly secure infrastructure, and the reputation of Première Vision, with a site featuring editorial content about trends and market information. As for buyers, they will, upon authentication, have free access to the platform.”
Séguillon said the marketplace will help buyers and exhibitors prolong the contacts made at the show, while also “assisting visitors to better prepare their visits, to visualize the offer from each exhibitor and take earlier appointments–in short, make the most of the event.”
