Kenzo tapped Sylvie Colin as its new CEO, effective Sept. 25. Colin joins Kenzo from Maje, where she recently served as the label’s chief executive. Her predecessor, Eric Marechalle, who exited Kenzo in July, will begin his role as the chief executive of Marc Jacobs in October.
Alexander McQueen named Stacy Van Praagh as its new president for the Americas. Van Praagh, who brings over 20 years of experience, previously held leadership roles at Chanel, Fendi and Oscar de la Renta. She succeeds Liz Radler, who recently left the Kering Group.
Missguided tapped former Shop Direct executive Gareth Jones as its new CEO of online. Jones joins the fast fashion retailer from Shop Direct, where he recently served as the company’s deputy chief executive.
Paul Masters, Missguided’s former CFO, was also tapped by another major fashion brand, In The Style, to become its new chief operating officer.
Dan Arden, former head of retail at New Look, was tapped by Pink Boutique as its new commercial director. In his new role, Arden will oversee the women’s wear retailer’s buying, merchandising and digital marketing initiatives. Arden joined New Look and held senior leadership roles, including country manager for Ireland, until he was promoted to head of retail in 2012. His resume also includes previous stints at other major retailers, including Arcadia Group.
Kolon Sport named Masha Ma as its new creative director. Ma has signed on for the next three seasons, starting with the Spring/Summer ’18 season. She will be responsible for the brand’s men’s and women’s collections. Her pieces will be showcased and sold in locations throughout China.
New Look CEO Anders Kristiansen is resigning from his post, following poor quarterly results and falling sales. Kristiansen led New Look for more than five years, overseeing the apparel retailer’s turnaround period in 2015. Danny Barrasso, New Look’s managing director of Ireland and the U.K., will take over for Kristiansen as interim CEO until New Look names a successor.
New Look scrapped a planned leadership change. Former Esprit womenswear head and Inditex executive Paula Dumont Lopez was set to become New Look’s chief creative officer. Instead, New Look decided to keep chief creative officer Roger Wightman and didn’t detail whether the appointment was temporary or permanent.
Balmain hired Txampi Diz as its first chief marketing officer. In his new role, Diz will be responsible for the label’s marketing and digital media operations. Diz joins Balmain after a 15-year tenure at KCD Worldwide, where he recently served as the company’s SVP and managing director of KCD Paris. In addition to his new role, Diz will remain an advisor on KCD’s board of directors.
Along with Diz’s hire, KCD Paris promoted Alexis Arnault and Michele Giacalone to managing directors. Both previously held the title of VP of public relations at the company and will work with managing director Laurence Laure.
LuLaRoe has selected social media entrepreneur Oliver Luckett to lead its social retail brand strategy. In his new role, Luckett will oversee LuLaRoe’s social media platforms and enable the company’s independent fashion retailers to connect with consumers nationwide. His resume includes previous stints at PBS/Frontline and theAudience.
Shoe Carnival’s board of directors elected Charles Tomm as a director. Tomm is currently a principal at Heritage Capital Group. His resume includes previous stints at Brumos Automotive and the Coggin-Courtesy subsidiary of Asbury Automotive Group.
