Sears Holdings announced Friday that senior vice president for finance Jason Hollar had been promoted to chief financial officer, effective immediately. He replaces Robert Schriesheim, who left the company in May. In addition, Sears said it had consolidated responsibility for internal audit, treasury and the capital markets finance functions under Robert Riecker, who has served as vice president and controller since 2011 and will continue in that role while also serving as head of capital markets activities.
Nike appointed Tom Peddie as its new North America vice president and general manager. Peddie has worked at Nike for many years, previously serving as the company’s VP of North American sales and VP of global sales. He will be in charge of Nike’s North American operations and will replace Joaquin Hidalgo, who is taking a leave of absence for health concerns.
Creative director Peter Dundas is leaving Roberto Cavalli amid a fashion house overhaul. Roberto Cavalli SpA is axing 200 jobs, shuttering stores and closing its corporate and design office in Milan, due to slow business. The luxury brand plans to relocate some of its stores in order to increase profitability by 2018.
Kering named Nikolas Talonpoika as the new chief executive officer of Christopher Kane. Talonpoika has worked at Kering for eight years and recently served as the company’s strategic marketing and media director. In his new role, Talonpoika will advance Kering’s internal expansion and grow its industry presence. His predecessor, Sara Cook, is departing Kering to pursue other career plans.
Former Quotient VP of client marketing Mike Scriven was tapped as Shopkick’s new head of customer success. In his new role, Scriven will implement creative communication strategies to further the company’s relationships with consumers. His resume includes previous stints at Aperture Marketing Group and Valassis.
Amazon hired Susan Saideman as its new VP for fashion in Europe. In her role, Saideman will be responsible for growing Amazon’s fashion inventory and facilitating customer outreach across Amazon’s five European fashion websites. Saideman joined Amazon in 2013 as the e-tailer’s head of global vendor management and then transferred to lead Amazon’s fashion business in India. She will replace Sergio Bucher, who departed from Amazon in early 2016 to become Debenhams’ chief executive.
Outdoor lifestyle brand Patagonia bolstered its senior management team this week, adding Ryan Shadrin as vice president of global direct-to-consumer and Cory Bayers as VP of marketing. Shadrin, who started his career at Orvis, will provide strategic vision and leadership to develop and grow a best-in-class digital and in-store experience. Bayers, most recently VP of global brand creative and global brand manager at Lululemon, will engage communities around the world on Patagonia’s best-in-class products, core values based in quality and environmentalism, and broaden its reach in innovation and responsible practices.
