
Ascena Retail Group
Ascena Retail Group promoted Erin Stern to president of Dressbarn. Stern, a retail veteran, previously served as the executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for Maurices—a specialty retailer that is part of Ascena’s brand portfolio. Her resume includes previous stints at Bebe Sport, Gap Inc. and Juicy Couture.
Royal DSM
Global science-based company Royal DSM appointed Wilfrid Gambade as the president of DSM Dyneema. Gambade joined DSM in 2009, where he managed the Composite Resins business in Europe and then from 2011, transitioned to the role of president, Composite Resins & Synres. Over the past three years, Gambade was part of DSM’s Personal Care business turnaround and integrating DSM’s Aroma Ingredients business into a Personal Care & Aroma Ingredients organization.
UPS
After 38 years of service, Alan Gershenhorn, chief commercial officer and executive vice president of UPS, will retire in June. At UPS, Gershenhorn’s responsibilities include leading corporate strategy and growth strategies across the enterprise. Gershenhorn was also part of many transformation initiatives at UPS—including reshaping UPS from a $3 billion U.S.-centric ground small package delivery company to a more than $60 billion leader in global supply chain solutions. He has held numerous executive roles in the company, including vice president of UPS Corporate Strategy Group and president of UPS Canada.
Unifi
Unifi Inc., a textile solutions provider, appointed Eddie Ingle to the role of vice president of global corporate sustainability and general manager of recycled chip and flake. In his new role, Ingle will lead Unifi’s sustainability efforts, including heading up the company’s Repreve brand. In addition to this appointment, Ingle will continue to hold his role as supply chain vice president. As a Unifi veteran, Ingle has worked at the company for more than 30 years, starting at Unifi’s operations facility in Letterkenny, Ireland.
Benetton Group
Luciano Benetton was appointed as executive chairman of Benetton Group. As part of this transition, Francesco Gori, chairman since May 2016, will stay on as a board director and soon assume a new position at another company founded by the Benetton Family.
Secoo Holding
Secoo Holding Limited, an Asian online services platform, announced leadership changes to its board of directors.
Jeff Zhaoxian Lin was appointed as a member of the board. Zhaoxian Lin currently serves as the chief strategy officer at Country Garden Group—a global real estate developer. His resume also includes previous stints at Boston Consulting Group and Procter & Gamble. Additionally, Cindy Jia Guo is stepping down from the board after five years of service.
Liberty
Liberty London, a U.K.-based department store, named Adil Mehboob-Khan as its new chief executive. Mehboob-Khan previously served as the CEO of Luxottica. He also held previous leadership roles at Proctor & Gamble and Wella.
Asics
Asics Corp. will promote Yasuhito Hirota to the role of president and chief operating officer, effective March 29. Hirota, who will immediately assume an advisory role, joins Asics from Mitsubishi Corp., where he was executive vice president, corporate functional officer and head of regional strategy for Japan, and other leadership roles for more than 30 years. He will succeed CEO, chairman and president Motoi Oyama, who will relinquish his role as president to focus on other Asics divisions.
Baldwin
Baldwin, a premium denim label, appointed Johnathan Crocker as its new president. In his new role, Crocker will oversee Baldwin’s creative initiatives and design operations. Crocker joins Baldwin from AG Jeans, where he served as vice president of global communications. Crocker previously worked with the company as a consultant for the label’s men’s and women’s ready-to-wear divisions.
Smythson
Smythson, a U.K.-based leather goods seller, tapped Luc Goidadin as its new creative director. Goidadin joins Smythson from Burberry, where he was the label’s chief design officer.
Marc Jacobs
LVMH hired John Targon as a new designer for Marc Jacobs. According to sources, Targon, who previously served as Baja East’s co-founder and creative director, will be responsible for the Marc Jacobs’ contemporary collection reboot.
