Former Li & Fung Executive to lead Synergies Worldwide as founder Munir Mashooqullah retires after 28 years
BANGKOK—Synergies Worldwide, a global supply chain management firm, announced today that Guido Schlossmann will lead the company in its newly relocated Bangkok, Thailand head office. Guido joins Synergies Worldwide as the new president and CEO effective Jan. 1, 2016.
Guido, 47, joins Synergies Worldwide, a sourcing and virtual manufacturing group known for its fast fashion clients and as one of the top 10 global sourcing companies, with a broad range of experience. Guido held top management positions in global sourcing and supply chain management in Germany, China, Bangladesh, Turkey, Hong Kong and Thailand for U.S.- and European-based fashion, apparel and sportswear customers.
Munir Mashooqullah, Synergies founder, who will hand over the role to Schlossmann after 28 years, said, “2015 was the best year for Synergies and the board is very excited to have Schlossmann as the successor.”
After starting his career as an assistant supervisor of the men’s department for Kaufhof AG in Cologne, Germany, Guido took up a master’s in business administration at the Justus Liebig University Giessen before returning to the industry to work as director assistant at Kaufring AG. He later became the country manager of Eurocentra Ltd (Wuensche Firmengruppe) based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and in 2002, he joined Polymax United Manufacturers Group, a German investment enterprise that specializes in garment manufacturing, multi-field trading and consulting business, where he was the general manager for Shanghai, Ningbo and Macao.
In 2003, Guido joined Li & Fung as general manager in Hong Kong, where he worked for more than a year before being promoted to senior vice president during which he lived in Istanbul, Turkey for nearly seven years. In 2010, Guido became executive vice president for global apparel business with Li & Fung, a post he held for close to five years prior to joining Synergies Worldwide.
