Tokyo-based Teijin Frontier Co. Ltd., the Teijin Group’s fiber products converting company, recently created Delta 2000, a high-performance, high-density material poised to improve outerwear.
The latest addition to Teijin Frontier’s Delta series, Delta 2000 is comprised of a warp of densely and finely crimped bulky yarn, and a weft of ultra-thin yarn. The company said that airspaces minimized three-dimensionally achieve 2,000 mm of water resistance, while an aerated fine-waffle structure provides excellent water-shedding performance.
Suited for sporting, fashion and uniform applications, the uncoated material is said to offer superior moisture permeability, a comfortably soft texture and a luxurious surface appearance.
Teijin is a technology-driven group specializing in solutions in the areas of sustainable transportation, information and electronics, safety and protection, environment and energy, and healthcare.
