Children’s Place Recalls Jacket Due to Choking Hazard

Kids clothier The Children’s Place has recalled a boys’ varsity jacket after uncovering that the metal snaps on the jacket can detach and pose a choking hazard to children.

The retailer is asking that roughly 13,700 of the knitted fleece varsity jackets in sizes six months through 5T be returned as a preventative measure since no incidents or injuries have yet been reported.

Item numbers for the royal blue jacket with grey sleeves and a baseball character with a red hat on the left chest area can be found sewn in on the side seam, and product numbers, 158805, 158806, 158807 and vendor number 1408 are part of the recall.

Jackets were sold nationwide and online at www.childrensplace.com from Dec. 2014 to July 2015 for $30.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said consumers should immediately return the jackets to any one of The Children’s Place stores for a full refund. If the jacket was bought online, consumers can contact the retailer to receive a prepaid envelope to return the jacket for a refund.
