SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, announced Saturday that it has opened a new textile testing laboratory in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, one of the most important textile and garment manufacturing sites in the area.
The new laboratory contains state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to provide physical and restricted testing for a complete range of apparel, textile and footwear products, which will aid local textile and garment manufacturers to comply with international regulations and requirements. The facility also provides quality inspection, compliance audits, factory assessment and loading supervision.
REACH and CPSIA product safety, quality and compliance requirement regulations have increased the need for laboratory testing in the supply chain, which the laboratory will help provide. SGS said their presence in Cambodia will help the local apparel industry to meet global standards and acceptability.
