Adidas continues to dominate the activewear market with new merchandise.
The German sports brand on Wednesday launched Adidas Athletics, its newest category comprising trendy and functional activewear that bridges the gap between on-field performance and personal style. A mix of influencers attended the line’s launch event in New York City this week, including professional athletes and musicians.
Athletics was developed by Adidas’ teams in Germany and the U.S. after much product design, development and marketing efforts this year. Serving as a wardrobe hybrid, the line brings together fashion and functionality in active apparel.
The Z.N.E. Hoodie serves as the leading clothing item of Athletics and was specifically created to omit distractions and maximize athletes’ focus throughout competitions. The hood’s large size and cozy heavyweight cotton material allows athletes to remove audible, visual and environmental external distractions in the make-or-break period before they compete. The special garment also contains space for athletes to carry other personal items.
Adidas will sell Z.N.E. Hoodies at its stores, on Adidas.com and at other select specialty retailers, including Champs, Macy’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods, starting Sept. 7. The hoodies will be available to consumers in white, ice blue, collegiate navy, black and olive cargo colorways, at a retail price of $100.
