Asos is offering consumers a new fitness apparel range designed for comfort, functionality and fashion to wear to the gym and afterward.
The fast fashion retailer has introduced Asos 4505, a private label activewear collection for men and women, suitable for many types of exercise, including cycling, running, Pilates and yoga. The line features activewear pieces like training T-shirts, sports bras, leggings, reflective jackets and snowboarding pants. Asos 4505’s pieces combine unique design aesthetics and functional capabilities.
“Following on from the recent ASOS activewear campaign, ‘More reasons to move,’ we want to empower our customers whether they prefer running or raving,” Asos said. “Featuring high-quality performance wear inspired by the very latest trends, ASOS 4505 provides our customer with a new wardrobe full of reasons to get active.”
For women, core apparel pieces, including a loose fit tank and T-Shirt, feature materials like polyester and elastane and enable free range of movement. Other garments, including the seamless yoga 7/8 legging in open warp knit, have antibacterial properties and wick moisture away from the skin.
For consumers who enjoy skiing and snowboarding, the line features jackets and pants with durable woven fabric, that are wind- and water-resistant and keep wearers dry in cold climates.
Asos set out to offer a line that accommodates women who wear petite, tall, plus, maternity and standard sizes. The line is available in sizes ranging from 00 to 26, offering many fitness apparel options for various body types.
For men, key garments, including the sleeveless tee and T-Shirt with quick dry technology, which are made with 100 percent polyester and feature moisture wicking capabilities. Other seasonless apparel items, like the collection’s running tights, made from 91 percent polyester and 9 percent elastane, provide free range of movement. The line’s warm weather items, including mid-length training shorts, are also designed to keep sweat at bay and provide comfort from the gym to leisure activities. Asos 4505 men’s garments are available in sizes XXS to 6XL.
Men’ and women’s items in the Asos 4505 line retail from $16 to $158.
Asos’ move into in-house activewear follows other retailers, including H&M, that have developed their own activewear collections. In January, H&M introduced an eco-friendly fitness apparel collection that highlighted nature, femininity and functionality. The collection’s pieces featured performance capabilites and were produced with recycled polyester. The collection aims to provide consumers with sustainable and functional activewear options for their gym and lifestyle needs.
