Xcel Brands’ Fast-Fashion Apparel Program Adds Licenses

The management company initiated new licenses across its owned brands, including H Halston and H by Halston. Licensees are seeking growth in categories that align with Xcel’s quick time response (QTR) apparel programs at various retailers, including Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor.

“With the rise of a ‘see-now-buy-now’ consumer shopping mentality and the need to respond to trends as they happen, Xcel created an innovative solution to bring exclusive brands to our department store partners in a quick time response format,” Xcel Brands chief executive officer and chairman Robert D’Loren said in a press release. “The rapid growth of these apparel programs has generated excitement within the licensing community across numerous complementary categories.”

The new partnerships will expand lifestyle brands under the H Halston label. New licensees under the H Halston brand include intimates, legwear and sleepwear. Komar and Xcel entered a licensing agreement to implement intimate apparel and women’s sleepwear under the H Halston and H by Halston labels in Spring 2017. Xcel also entered a licensing agreement with Gina Group LLC for women’s legwear, men’s socks and children’s legwear products, which are also expected to launch next Spring.

The H Halston brand is currently sold at Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor stores. As an Xcel Brand label, H Halston provides chic apparel for women’s eveningwear and everyday style needs. H by Halston is exclusive to Xcel’s digital partner, QVC, and also offers minimalist daywear styles for women’s wardrobes.
