Performance textile industry professional John Mitchell has partnered with Mitsui Bussan Techno Products Co. Ltd to develop a line of performance knit textiles under the company’s PrimaLoft Performance Fabric license.
Mitchell is best known for his work at Polartec and Dyersburg Fabrics, along with his past involvements in innovative branded technologies within the textile apparel, accessory and footwear markets.
“I look forward to developing product, marketing and business partnerships for this system of knit fabrics created to work seamlessly with PrimaLoft yarn and insulation products,” Mitchell told SNEWS.
In 2013, Mitsui Bussan Techno Products Co. and PrimaLoft collaborated to cultivate and manufacture PrimaLoft Performance Fabrics. The fabrics are categorized into Gold and Silver groupings to distinguish each fabric’s specific performance, both designed for next-to-skin comfort with the company’s proprietary water-repellent finish.
The high-performance Gold group includes knits positioned as PrimaLoft Performance Fabric Heat or Primaloft Performance Fabric Dry. The Heat collection offers extensive comfort and temperature-regulating properties, while the Dry collection delivers outstanding moisture management and fast-drying capabilities.
The Silver group highlights Merino wool/poly blends as well as other knits made of technical fibers and advanced materials to offer moisture management, softness and comfort.
