Michael Kors is expanding his horizons, not in terms of the handbags that bear his name, but rather what his customers can keep inside them. The fashion icon has delved into the world of personal technology by designing a collection of hi-tech accessories including earbuds, phone/tablet cases, and chargers, all of which are designed to resemble women’s cosmetic cases in shades of orange, pink and white.
The collection also marks the first collaboration between Kors and personal power juggernaut Duracell—the first joint effort of its kind that has resulted in a line of seven Duracell PowerCase and Powermat products designed by Michael Kors. The Powercase, which contains a built-in 2000 mAh battery, will provide up to 100 percent extra battery power while shielding phones in a lightweight material.
Each Michael Kors designed Duracell Powermat Kit includes one PowerCase and an accompanying Powermat. These products are compatible with iPhone 5/5s. Models for the iPhone 6 will hit the market in early 2015.
Kors has recently launched a number of campaigns, including cosmetics and fragrances, to expand his brand. Kors said, “The men and women I design for are constantly on the go. They lead full lives, and they need their phones to work from morning until night, breakfast to boardroom, on business trips and vacation.” He added, “Whether you’re a technophile or a technophobe, the beauty of this technology is that it is so easy. In this fast world, which is only getting faster, you never want your phone to die.”

The collection will be available in stores and online by the end of November. Product will retail for $58 to $140.
