Nordstrom to Debut Edited J.Crew Collection

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Nordstrom and J.Crew Group are growing their partnership.

Following the success of the company’s sister brand, Madewell, at select Nordstrom stores nationwide, the two announced Monday that an edited J. Crew collection will debut next month. The women’s Fall 2016 assortment will be sold at 16 Nordstrom locations and at Nordstrom.com starting Sept. 12.

“We know our customers love J.Crew and we’re excited to be offering this coveted brand in our stores and online,” Nordstrom co-president Pete Nordstrom said. “Partnering with quality brands like J.Crew that have exclusive distribution is part of our long-term strategic agenda.”

Madewell is now available at 76 Nordstrom locations and Nordstrom.com. The department store is the only retailer in the U.S. that sells J. Crew and Madewell merchandise outside of their own locations.

The J. Crew collection will highlight the brand’s signature pieces, including Regent and Rhodes blazers, Martie pants, Italian cashmere and outerwear. The line will be designed and merchandised with J. Crew detailing, such as pattern mixing and bright colors.

“This was an easy decision. Nordstrom is the perfect partner because we both share the same high standards of customer service and store experience,” J. Crew CEO Millard Drexler said. “Additionally, we are known for exceptional design, quality and style, which we know will appeal to the Nordstrom customer.”
