Gap Inc.-owned online boutique, Piperlime announced last week that it will debut a new online shopping experience on its site featuring inspirational social media feeds from bloggers and influencers showing outfit ideas and must-have pieces, allowing shoppers to view and directly purchase each piece easily.
The site will also reveal a new logo, which the company says, “embodies Piperlime as a true, elevated fashion destination.”
Lexi Tawes, Piperlime vice president and general manager, said, “We’re excited to integrate social media into our customers’ shopping experiences. Interweaving technology into our incredible mix of product and fashion expertise is making Piperlime more than a shopping destination; we’ve become a style resource.”
The company is also launching the first-ever Piperlime Collection.
Jamie Lewin, director of design and trend, along with her design team have worked to develop the Piperlime Collection. The line will feature 68 classic pieces ranging in price from $34-$170, which will evolve each season.
Piperlime has chosen 25 “It Girls,” celebrity style icons, as part of an evolution of its Guest Editor Program. These will help attract the ideal Piperlime shopper and promote the website and new clothing line. Supermodel, Chrissy Teigen will kick-off the program providing shoppers with style advice and tips from fashion stars like socialite Poppy Delevigne, fashion designer Claire Vivier, singer ZZ Ward, among others.
“Our customer is the contemporary girl who loves to curate her own looks,” Lewin said. “While we are always inspired by the runway, our girl looks more to street style and social media for tips on how to mix and match all of the pieces in her own way. She blends investment and affordable pieces in a way that’s cool, feminine and always true to herself.”
Piperlime launched in 2006 and offers more than 300 designer and casual brands. The Piperlime collection will be available online and at the Piperlime SoHo store in September 2014.
