In another example of activewear’s influence over the denim industry, Silver Jeans Co. has announced the release of Joga Jeans, its new soft and flexible hybrid denim that looks like a traditional jean but feels like a sweatpant.
The cotton, polyester and elastane blended jean features a double-faced stretch woven top akin to traditional denim, and sweatpant-like plush knit underneath, enabling the pant to move and stretch with the body without losing shape. The innovative fabric is said to offer denim-quality durability with a unique ultra-soft hand.
Men’s and women’s styles are finished in the company’s signature vintage and dark washes, and are accented with traditional trims of a classic five-pocket jean. For women’s, the popular Aiko fit is designed to flatter a defined curve. The men’s Allan style is a classic fit with a slim leg opening.
Joga Jeans retail for $78-$88. The launch will be supported by an extensive advertising campaign in August with ads in People Style Watch, Nylon and InStyle with the tagline, “Wanna Joga?”
