Patrik Frisk, who helped revitalize Timberland, announced a surprise move to head up Aldo Group. In an email announcement on Thursday, Frisk revealed he would begin his new role as CEO of the fashion footwear retailer in November.
Earlier this year Frisk was named the coalition president of VF’s outdoor Americas segment, which includes Timberland, The North Face and Vans brands. He previously served as Timberland president for three years. Stewart Whitney, a 14-year Timberland veteran, formally took over the role of Timberland’s brand president earlier this month.
Frisk helped transform the outdoor brand, which was acquired by VF Corp. in 2011, into the corporation’s third-largest brand by broadening its offerings from workwear to fashion, as well as growing its international footprint.
On Monday the company reported Timberland’s sales revenue increased 15 percent in the third quarter 2014. Its sales are expected to reach $3.1 billion by 2019.
