These warehouses, together with the other 11 self-managed facilities in the country, will enhance Maersk’s logistics capacity for future growth in Vietnam.
“Contract logistics and distribution is a crucial component in our customers’ supply chains,” Marco Civardi, managing director of Maersk Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar, said. “By connecting and simplifying logistics and services solutions, our customers can benefit from our seamless end-to-end offerings to optimize their supply chains.”
Civardi said Maersk’s commitment to the Vietnam market resulted in a significant increase of in its logistics footprint by adding three warehouses with a combined 38,000 square meters in the fourth quarter of 2020 and first quarter of 2021.
“Our mission is to constantly improve our capabilities in logistics and services so that we can better serve the surging demand in import and export, while enabling Maersk to gradually become one of the top logistics service providers in the country driven by our customer centric approach,” he added.

Fully equipped with multiple racking systems, strong rooms, security cameras and sprinkler systems, the three new facilities will improve inventory management experience for clients from Europe, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam, as well as enabling Maersk’s clientele to have a more efficient supply chain, the company said.
Located 25 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, the new distribution centers in Song Than offer premium contract logistics and distribution service to support the substantial trade growth in south Vietnam. These two facilities are 10,000 square meters and 9,700 square meters, respectively, and will cater to the increasing needs from customers in the tech, FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) and retail sectors, where inventory management and cargo flow control are essential to their supply chains.
Maersk is also expanding its logistics footprint in north Vietnam by increasing the scale of its new facility in Bac Ninh, which is 23 klilometers from the capital Hanoi and 120 kilometers from the Hai Phong port. At around 18,000 square meters, the new facility is situated next to another Maersk distribution center that opened in December 2019.
By scaling up the area to a combined 29,000 square meters, the Bac Ninh facilities will enable Maersk to offer end-to-end solutions to customers located in the increasingly strategic area of north Vietnam, where enhanced infrastructures not only allow a more effective national connectivity, but also support trade growth.
