Cotton Incorporated released the latest iteration of its Fabricast collection focusing on novel ideas in cotton-rich fabrics.

The new constructions highlight patterns in line with the latest trends.

“Nothing thrives in a vacuum, so the team consulted a variety of internal and external sources, including Cotton Incorporated’s own trend analysis, account manager, and the company’s own consumer and retail analyses,” Cotton Inc. said. “The goal is to always present a range of relevant options season after season.”

From laser technology on non-traditional substrates with embellishment and cutting, to naturally-hued cotton on novelty weaves and unique piece dye effects with cationic yarns, the 2016 collection covers a well-rounded range.

For wovens, the new fabrics include an indigo chambray with laser cut pattern, a lightweight denim with laser cut pattern, a basket weave with mock-twist with slub, and a diagonal Bedford cord with foil application.

In knits, linear geometric jacquards are apparent, as is a herringbone French terry with stretch, double knit blister with space dyed yarn, and a bonded lightweight denim to jacquard knit terry.

Cotton Inc. has been sharing Fabricast collections with businesses for decades, but this year features a more focused range.

“Our role is to help cotton businesses succeed, and the best way to do that is by giving those businesses what they need—in this case, constructions and patterns that are in line with industry and consumer trends,” Cotton Inc. said. “Also, with cotton fiber prices being low and consumer preference for cotton high, it’s the perfect time to remind the industry what can be achieved with cotton, from high-end fashion to functional athletic apparel.”
