Huntsman Partners with Chinese Dye Manufacturer to Improve Speed to Market

Huntsman Corporation and Jihua Group are working together to advance China’s textile sector.

Huntsman’s Textile Effects division and Chinese dye manufacturer Jihua Group signed a strategic partnership agreement to jointly capitalize on the growing need for chemical and dye solutions in China’s textile industry, Knitting Industry reported. This tie-up will allow the companies to speed up their supply chains, fulfill customer demand and boost cost efficiency for customers.

“Jihua Group has emerged as one of the leading players in the domestic chemical industry in the past years,” Jihua Group chairman Shao Bojin said. “We are equally honoured to partner with such a global leader as Huntsman to pool and complement our resources and strength so as to jointly tap into the Chinese market, which promises huge opportunities.”

The strategic partnership will strengthen the existing cooperation between Huntsman Textile Effects and Jihua Group. In August, Huntsman Textile Effects announced it had granted Jihau the sole license for the manufacturing, marketing and sales of its patented reactive Super Black dyes in China. Both companies will now sell Super Black under their respective trade names and Jihua Group also has permission to sub-license the dyes in China.

According to the China National Textile Apparel Council (CNTAC), investment in China’s textile sector increased 1.6 times year-on-year from January to June to $19.3 billion, due to the expansion of textile manufacturers in the nation. With their collaboration, Huntsman and Jihua Group will take part in this industry growth, by providing more services for Chinese consumers and driving the presence of chemical solutions within China’s textile industry.

“We are very pleased to have broadened our cooperation with Jihua Group into a strategic partnership,” Huntsman Textile Effects president Rohit Aggarwal said. “This strategic alliance will allow us to create greater cost and operational efficiencies and we can react quicker and be more nimble to our customers in China.”
