The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) launched its World Cotton Calendar, a new extensive database of cotton related information for 37 different countries, from the United States and China to Egypt and Kazakhstan.
Via the World Cotton Calendar, users can find data on cotton production field operations like ginning and picking, and a list of varieties planted and area designated for each. Information on present early and mid-season insects, weeds, quality of fertilizer applied, potential diseases and cotton activities by month—which outlines when the region transports seed cotton to gins, or ships cotton to ports, for example—is also available.
To access the data, users can select a country or region on the world map, click a blue dot to zoom in on the area they would like details for, and then click the blue dot once more to pull up a hyperlinked list of cotton production data.
Access to the cotton calendar information is complimentary, and ICAC said it will update the calendar regularly. The World Cotton Calendar can be found here.
